Treatments

The treatments have been developed based on decades of practical experience and the adoption of the latest scientific and medical solutions. The primary objective is to meet all our patients’ needs through active cooperation and an atmosphere of trust.

Oral hygiene

Strong oral hygiene and the health of gums that surround teeth are basic conditions to the success of dental treatment. Tartar and gum inflammation are proven to damage both teeth and gums, and may cause a variety of medical conditions such as focal infections, joint complaints, stomach and intestinal disorders, heart diseases, and premature birth.

The patient’s active cooperation is needed for an oral hygiene that prevents, slows down or stops dental decay and periodontal disorders.

Effective dental hygiene practices are not easy to learn and the process takes relatively long; that is why it’s advisable to devote separate sessions to it.

  • Oral hygiene assessment and consultancy (aided by an oral camera)
  • Tartar removal manually and/or with an ultrasound device (cleansing plaque and tartar off the enamel and root surface)
  • Surface polishing with paste or EMS airflow
  • Explaining how professional oral hygiene can be ensured at home (proper usage of tooth and mouth care tools)
  • Regular check-ups (once in 3, 6 or 9 months)

Our dental hygiene expert will help you perfect your practices.

Tooth whitening

So-called cosmetic dentistry, and particularly tooth whitening, are gaining ground in Hungary as well. Thanks to fast progress in whitening procedures, the materials currently used do not damage the enamel.

Whitening agents (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) have an oxidising effect on tooth discoloration (pigment spots), thus restoring the natural colour of teeth. For effective whitening, it’s essential to professionally clean the teeth (remove tartar and polish the teeth) before the procedure.

Several procedures are known:
  • RTooth whitening in a dental surgery: a whitening gel is applied to the surface of the teeth, and a special light source is used for the actual whitening. Naturally, the gums are duly protected. With this method, your smile becomes radiant within an hour. We use a modern Polilux LED lamp for immediately obvious results. In the last step of the whitening process, a protective layer containing fluoride is applied.
  • Tooth whitening at home: the effectiveness of this procedure is similar to the previous method’s, but the procedure takes longer. A low-concentration whitening material is loaded into a hollow rail which is then placed on the teeth. The results became visible in 10-14 days.

Once the whitening procedure is completed, we give you useful and important advice for long-term results.

Dentistry for children

We pay special attention to children as treating their teeth requires much patience. It’s advisable to bring your child to the dental office before actual treatment is necessary, in order to dispel any fears. Our friendly atmosphere strongly contributes to that. Cleaning and protecting milk and permanent teeth is of prime importance for the overall health of your child. Cavities are easier to prevent and identify at an early stage if the child learns how to brush his/her teeth properly and is regularly examined by a dentist.

  • Nutrition advice
  • Fluoride treatment of milk teeth
  • Filling cavities in milk teeth (with fluoride-containing material)
  • Treatment of accidental injuries
  • Protection of newly grown permanent teeth (by filling up the deep grooves on the chewing surface with a special material)
Dentistry for pregnant mothers

We devote special attention to pregnant mothers because several biological changes during pregnancy affect teeth and gums. Hormone secretion changes, potentially resulting in swollen, inflamed or bleeding gums. Changes in the composition and ph value of saliva may speed up tooth decay. Changed eating habits (increased consumption of sweets) may also deteriorate the condition of teeth. Finally, pregnancy-induced vomiting increases acid production, which is detrimental to teeth as well.

Pregnant mothers may visit their dentists less frequently, so the maintenance of professional oral hygiene and oral care at home are even more important to them.

Aesthetic fillings

These days, one of the goals of cosmetic dentistry is to maximise the aesthetic effect via fillings that ensure natural tooth forms and colours, chewing surfaces, and a smile line suited to the patient’s specific characteristics:

  • Minor cavities are filled with a tooth-coloured material hardened by light.
  • Large cavities are filled and missing tooth material is replaced with plastic (Gradia) or ceramic (e.max Press) inlays or onlays. In this case, an impression is made of the cleaned cavity and the dentist uses glue to affix a filling made by a dental technician.
  • Shell: an aesthetically motivated solution used for front teeth and small molars, aimed at correcting discolouration, enamel imperfections, major cavities, tooth material broken off, or wide gaps between teeth. An indirect shell is made by a dental technician based on an impression, which is in turn based on a thin layer chiselled off the external tooth surface. The shell, made of plastic (Gradia) or ceramic (e.max Press), is glued in place by the dentist.
  • A direct shell is made by the dentist on site, through a special layering technique.

Aesthetic tooth replacements

These days, one of the goals of cosmetic dentistry is to maximise the aesthetic effect via tooth replacements that ensure natural tooth forms and colours, chewing surfaces, and a smile line suited to the patient’s specific characteristics:

Crowns and bridges
  • Ceramic crown and bridge burned on metal, made of nickel-free or precious metal-containing alloys.
  • Metal-free restoration:
    • plastic (GRADIA)
    • fully ceramic (E.MAX PRESS)
    • Crowns and bridges made with CAD/CAM technology
    • Bridges made without chiselling: inlay bridges

An inlay bridge is used to replace one missing tooth. A small cavity is made in the neighbouring teeth (similarly to those for fillings) to which the bridge is affixed.

CAD/CAM means the computer-assisted design and manufacturing of crowns and bridges. Thanks to the materials and the precise technology used, the resulting replacement tooth causes no metal allergy, constitutes a long-term solution, and provides the most natural aesthetic effect!!!

Step by step
  • The dentist prepares the teeth (forms “shoulders”) and makes an extended impression of them.
  • Based on the impression, a plaster sample is made by the dental technician.
  • The sample is scanned so that it can be displayed on a computer monitor.
  • The dental technician uses dental software to design the shape and size of the replacement tooth.
  • The completed design is sent to a foreign manufacturing facility, or a robot in the dental technician’s own lab carves out the requested form to a micrometre’s precision.
  • The frame is delivered by courier in a few days.
  • The dental technician builds the ceramic (Ivoclar) material of the right colour on that frame, thus completing the replacement tooth.
  • The dentists affixes (glues in) the precise and naturally beautiful replacement tooth.
Combined tooth replacement

This is performed if several teeth are missing. The product consists of a glued, fixed bridge and a removable denture that is connected with the bridge with special binding elements.

Removable dentures

This solution is used when many or all teeth are missing. A procedure called hidden plating results in better-looking dentures.

Root canal treatment

This procedure is applied if the nerve within a tooth is inflamed and decays, which causes pathological conditions.

The goal is to save the tooth, i.e. avoid its extraction. Inflammation begins when tooth decay reaches the dental pulp and the nerve within that. After a while, the tooth dies, so root canal treatment becomes inevitable.

The root canal must be cleansed of bacteria, disinfected, treated with medicine, and restored by filling. The root canal is opened and cleaned with special manual tools and machines (Siroendro and Reciprok).

We use a very new procedure for disinfection: bacteria are removed from the channel with a laser diode device (Sirolaser). This is followed by tooth reconstruction.

If the bacteria and toxins spread from the root channel into the bone, a granuloma or cyst is formed. In this case, the root tip is removed (together with the inflamed tissue) via a small operation (resection).

Oral surgery

Surgical intervention is required if conservative therapy fails.

Thanks to modern anaesthetic techniques and devices, oral surgery now involves less inconvenience and no pain at all.

  • Tooth extraction (including surgical opening if necessary)
  • wisdom tooth extraction
  • root tip removal (resection)
  • removal of a cyst around the tooth root
  • alveolus correction (bone surface smoothing)
  • soft tissue surgery (mucous membrane operation, frenulum surgery)
  • radio surgery: plastic surgery of soft tissue or gums, allowing for the fast and painless formation of gums around teeth (e.g. a wisdom tooth breaking through), fillings, and crowns with an Endotherm device.

Implants

As an alternative to conventional tooth replacement, an implant may offer a perfect solution for the replacement of even a single tooth. It is also suitable if several or all teeth are missing because it renders removable dentures unnecessary.

Implantation is a surgical tooth replacement method:

  • A prosthetic root is inserted into the jawbone in local or general anaesthesia.
  • This implant becomes fixed in the bone over a healing period of three to six months.
  • Then the implant is unblocked, a gum shaping device is inserted, an impression is made, and finally the superstructure and the tooth replacement are prepared.

Fogágybetegségek

A fogíny a lepedékben lévő baktériumok hatására gyulladásba kerülhet (fogínygyulladás, azaz gingivitis alakul ki). Ez idővel átterjedhet a fogak tartószerkezetére is, ahol a fogágy visszafordíthatatlan károsodását okozhatja(ez a fogágygyulladás, azaz parodontitis). Hosszabb távon a fogak meglazulásához, elvesztéséhez vezethet.

Célzott kezelésekkel e folyamat kialakulása megelőzhető
  • rendszeres fogászati szűrővizsgálat ( félévente, évente)
  • megfelelő szájhigiénia
  • ultrahangos és kézi műszerrel történő fogkőeltávolítás
  • fogak polírozása(polírpasztával vagy EMS Airflow-val)
illetve a már kialakult betegség előrehaladása csökkenthető
  • az előbbiekben leírt kezelésekkel
  • ínygyulladás kezelése
  • a fogágygyulladás következtében a fogak között kialakuló ínytasakok tisztítása SIROLASER készülékkel
  • speciális parodontális kisműtétekkel(curettage,gyökérfelszínek elsimítása)

A mozgó,meglazult fogak megerősíthetők sínezéssel. Kiváló esztétikai hatású, mivel a sín a fogak belső oldalán található. Az egyébként egészséges fogak élettartama így évekkel meghosszabbítható!
